50 years experience has shown that Stresscrete has the ability to design and manufacture virtually any precast item needed in infrastructural projects.

Stresscrete designs and manufactures a full range of bridges from short span farm bridges, through to medium span (6-20m) double hollowcore bridges and major highway bridges spanning up to at least 28m. We manufacture about 20 bridges each year.

Stresscrete can design and manufacture sizes of prestressed concrete distribution poles to cover the full variety of situations faced by Power Supply Authorities. These distribution poles are typically from 9 to 14m long. Holes can be provided at spacings to satisfy local requirements. In 1986, Stresscrete won the New Zealand Concrete Society's prestressed concrete award for the 11,000 poles that they designed and supplied for the North Island main trunk rail electrification project. In 1992 Stresscrete's patented process for producing hollow concrete poles won the award for that year. Our hollow poles are typically from 15m to 23m long. Stresscrete staff represented New Zealand on the joint standards AS/NZS 4676:2000 and 4065:2000 for the design and construction of power poles.

RAILWAY SLEEPERS

Stresscrete is the sole NZ manufacturer of prestressed concrete railway sleepers and has the capacity to make over 40,000 sleepers per year to track specification 116.

Stresscrete has designed and manufactured the components for precast prestressed concrete reservoir structures since the late 1960's. Specialist post-tensioning design and supervision skills developed for bridging during the motorway projects of the 1960's and 70's were applied to reservoir wall construction. Design methods have been upgraded in order to satisfy modern earthquake codes while construction improvements and stressing techniques have been continuously modified.

Stresscrete has the ability to design and manufacture a full range of culverts.

Stresscrete won the NZCS award in 2000 for the Manapouri Tunnel Outlet Tailrace and tail liner.

Stresscrete won the New Zealand Concrete Society's concrete award in 1992 for the Auckland Harbour Bridge moveable lane barriers.
